Due to growth, South University invites applications for faculty and faculty leadership positions in the following areas:
College of Nursing: Academic Program Directors and Clinical Coordinators are needed to launch and lead our future nursing programs for the new Cleveland campus.
Required: Earned PhD or DNSc from a regionally accredited university and significant teaching experience at the college level.
College of Health Professions (Physical Therapist Assistant Program): Academic Program Directors and Clinical Coordinators are needed to launch and lead our future Physical Therapist Assistant programs for the following NEW locations: Cleveland, Ohio.
Candidate will build on the success of South’s existing CAPTE Accredited programs (Tampa and West Palm Beach, FL; Savannah, GA; and Montgomery, AL) to build the department on the new campus. Required: Master’s Degree with significant teaching experience at the college level. DPT with college-level teaching experience is strongly desired. All academic credentials must be conferred by a regionally accredited university.
Health Care Management (College of Business): Multiple faculty opportunities exist (all ranks). Earned PhD- Healthcare Management or Healthcare Administration preferred. Other terminal degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Healthcare Management may be considered. Academic credentials must be conferred by a regionally accredited university. Prior teaching experience in a college or university setting required. Significant practical experience in a healthcare setting desired.

Education, training, experience:
JOB REQIREMENTS:
1. Knowledge:
a) PhD from a regionally accredited university in a field related to the classes to be taught in most cases required and in all cases strongly preferred; Earned graduate degree to include at least 18 graduate hours in the field of instruction minimally required.
b) Experience in instruction or formalized education process, preferably in a post-secondary or college institution.
c) Membership in a professional association tied to area of instruction preferred.
d) Current state licensure required as applicable to the discipline
2. Skills:
a) Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build successful relationships with student populations.
b) Outstanding conflict resolution skills.
c) Demonstrated time management and detail-oriented skills
d) Computer based skills (i.e., software, analytical, and report writing skills)
3. Abilities:
a) Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet frequently occurring deadlines.
b) Ability to develop a professional rapport with diverse school/campus constituents.
c) Ability to develop and complete projects without continued direct supervision
d) Ability to learn from students’ participation, demonstrates fair and consistent behavior in all matters, and shows compassion without being ineffectual
